Transform the mundane into a spa.

Give yourself a massage

Self Care can be as simple as making day-to-day tasks mindful exercises. Some examples of making the mundane more spa-like could be-

Lighting a candle while you do your skincare

Playing relaxing music while you brush your teeth

Adding drops of essential oil to your shower for some aromatherapy

If your love language is physical touch, show yourself some love with a massage. Take a few minutes to gently massage your temples, rub your shoulders, or massage your favourite lotion into your skin.

Call a friend, call a family member.

Introvert or extrovert, connection is something human beings need. An act of self love is calling someone you care about to brighten your spirits.

Here at the-tender-recent, we love to rely on old Comfort shows whenever we need to feel cozy or a good laugh. One of our favourite ways to spend is evening is making a cup of tea, grabbing a blanket, and watching New Girl.

Bake your favourite dessert

You do not need to be a pro-baker, think about your favourite treat or something you’re craving. Utilize the internet to find a super simple recipe, and make something you love.

Hot girl walk

Get your favourite album or podcast started, or listen to the nature around you. The endorphins from a hot-girl walk is a great shot of self love you can give yourself.

Get in touch with your inner artist

You can be an expert, or you could be an amateur with a coloring book, take some me-time and connect with your artistic side.

Give yourself a hug

Simple, easy, takes very little time. Sometimes we just need a hug, and you can show yourself some loving by quickly giving yourself a hug.

Journal/Shadow work

To know yourself is engaging in self-love. Journal about your day, or about something that’s been on your mind. Then write a kind letter you can read in the future when you need it.

Create and follow a nightly routine

Sleep is so important for our health and our bodies, by trying to get the best sleep you can you are engaging in self-love. Think about a couple of things that you can do before bed that make you sleepy. It could be turning screens off, drinking tea, reading, or doing your skincare.

Write and recite Affirmations

Self -love does not always come easy, particularly on difficult days. For moments when you’re not really feeling it, fake it ‘til you make it. Affirmations are a fantastic way to trick our brains, eventually they will turn into reality. Some affirmations used at the-tender-reset are:

“I accept where I am, and I am proud of how I got here.”

“I trust the process”

“I look beautiful today, I love my smile!”

Do your makeup, or a skincare routine

Taking some time to put on mascara and lip gloss might help make you feel beautiful, or take some time to nourish your skin. When we look good we feel good! When we take care of ourselves we feel good! Throw on your favourite top to match your look, or throw on some clean comfortable clothes to go with your clean skin. Your body is beautiful and deserves to be honored, celebrate it in whatever way you’d like to.

Practice meditating

Grounding exercises, like meditation, are a way to ease the mind. Creating a calm and safe environment, starting with your mind, is a beautiful act of self love.

Forgive yourself.

Remind yourself that you are human! It is so easy to spiral into anxiety about things from your past, love yourself by accepting the present, and being a little less hard on yourself.
